Dreams I held Dear

I woke from the dream Drenched in sweat and blood Nothing left in spirit to hold on A shattered dream, a broken hope Promises killed without remorse

Trust betrayed with a grand smile

Bloodied body and heart, left to die

Shivering from within, I held on

Saw tiny little hands touch me

Tears in the eyes, he smiled, he called

Holding on to HIM, I came out

Saw the wounds slowly heal

Fresh layer of skin not yet there

Then I saw those who ran away

Those who never were part of it

The battle was lost not by King

King butchered by His own Army

Yet survived was strange for them

So they pinch the healing wounds

They poked the heart to see if beating

Searched for soul, spirit held them at bay

A sorry, A figure of apology all so hollow

A formal gesture, gives me more pain

Fake smile, fake promises, fake friends

Seeking the kingdom, they had no right to

Lying there, on the field, I await a way

No promises, no illusions, nothing to hold

Scars are there to show, I did not shy away

I did not run away, I never blamed anyone

HE shall come, I wait, I know and I believe

HE took me out alive for a reason, HE knows

I need the Kingdom as an offering to HIM

Kings will change, Kingdom shall remain

None to rely, I shall fight with no fear

For it is HIS Kingdom, I am just a King

Await for a drink, a drink to gain strength

Await to take a bath, tear away old clothes

HE will come and then I shall be back

Back on the battleground, none to trust

So let the battle begin for war is still away
