Pseudo Learning

An obese Irishman was put on a diet by his doctor.

“I want you to eat regularly for 2 days, then skip a day, and repeat this procedure for 2 weeks. The next time I see

you, you should have lost at least 5 pounds.”

When the Irishman returned, he shocked the doctor by having lost nearly 60lbs! “Why, that’s amaziing!” the doctor said, “Did you follow my instructions?”

The Irishman nodded… “I will tell you, though by Jesus, I thought I was going to drop dead on the 3rd day.” “From the hunger, you mean?” asked the doctor.

“No, from the skipping.”

Lack of understanding of the scriptures have created a similar situation in the lives of people. Like the poor Irish man here we listen to certain facts and go on hopping about it without even understanding the long standing results it might have.

Preachers talk like the doctor as above. They stand at a pedestal which is high above and believing that the world itself is ready for the elevated level of understanding they go on preaching which seekeers are not able to understand or

accept in the manner it is being said or demonstrated.

This is a dangerous situation for those preachers who only preach based on the theoretical knowledge are not able to provide the information in the manner digestible to the masses. Due to this limitation most of the religions in the world

have got corrupted by the pseudo preachers and propagators. The ancient scriptures are talking the truth but how many people actually realize the truth; that is crucial for it shall change the course of the world. Today, the seekers are like the Irish man who listen to some thing and create his own vision of the same using his limited undersstanding thereby not gaining much but losing out a lot.

Teachers, whether true or pseudo, can go on explaining many things theoretically but the essential thing remains that the seeker himself is in the dark who seeking only to ressolve current problems at hand.

Such seekers are plenty today resulting in the mushrooming of the pseudo Gurus whose role is only to exploit the fear in the minds of people. But some messages are of a different nature. I remember an incident which was shared by a good friend of mine; he stays in the US and once attended a prebirth class with his wife, when they were expecting their second baby.

During the class, the instructor raised the issue of breaking the news to the older child.

It went like this: “Some parents,” she said, “tell the older child, ‘We love you so much we decided to bring another child into this famiily.’

But think about it ladies, what if your husband came home one day and said, ‘Honey, I love you so much I decided to bring home another wife.’

One of the women spoke up immediately. “Does she cook?”

How does cooking have any relation with the news? It does not matter but the lady who raised this question is like millions of seekers who would try to relate any event

with their current problem or concern.

They would not even wait for a moment to think what the biggger purpose in life is; rather they would be too happy with the immeddiate results.

This happens due to the way of motivational activities we provide for achievement of certain goals in the material life. Most common example is something like this:

Father: If you pass your examination, I will give you a two-wheeler.

Son: Will it be a scooter or a mottorcycle?

Father: As you wish.

Son: And if I fail?

Father: Then I will give you a threewheeler- -a cycle rickshaw.

It may look motivational but then it is truly a business deal where the son will only study for getting the vehicle and not for improving his basic learning to lead a life that becomes an ideal for others.

In future, such a child will become a person who can only judge with gross senses and intelligence but his heart shall never be in the matter resulting in wrong

diagnosis and probable creation of ideas and concepts that may be totally illogical like the story where three students of a college went to a pond to analyze the water as per their subjects.

One student who had a physics background jumped into the water to calculate its density and another who was a mathematics student jumped into the pond to study its depth. Third student who was a student of chemistry waited for one hour for his friends then reached a conclusion that both his friends are soluble in water.

This is truly the kind of students we create – who neither have a strong base of moral values nor are clear in their ideas. The world today is becoming complex day by day and every passing day, it floods the media with new ideas which in a short

period of time, loses its value, creaating more and more complexity in one’s life. Today, the children and people are leading a life ridden with complexes, duality, fear and even a small flutter of event can shatter them.

Strong moral values can only create a world of righteousness where the truth is realised for the benefit of the future generation. Only if the generation of today is strong then they are able to create stronger generation for tomorrow.

Lack of moral values have been exploited by the pseudo masters to gain momentum who, like bubbles, rise for a few decades and then are lost forever or get entangled in controversies. Such masters lack their own standing and they

claim certain values which are either baseless or lack scientific understanding
